Sikh Community Connections Celebrates Women’s Health Week 2026
Sikh Community Connections Inc. successfully hosted its annual Women’s Health Week celebration at Highlander Community Centre in Craigieburn, bringing local women together for an informative and uplifting event focused on health, wellbeing and community connection.
The celebration provided a welcoming space where women could learn from qualified health professionals, ask questions and connect with others in a supportive environment.
Guest speakers included a dietitian and physiotherapist, who shared practical advice on nutrition, healthy eating, physical activity, pain management and maintaining mobility. Their presentations encouraged participants to take small, achievable steps towards improving their health and making their wellbeing a priority.
The informative sessions were followed by healthy food and networking, giving attendees an opportunity to meet new people, exchange experiences and build valuable community connections.
Speaking at the event, Sikh Community Connections President Gurinder Kaur highlighted the importance of creating accessible and culturally inclusive health programs for women.
“Women often devote so much of their time and energy to caring for their families and communities that their own health can become a lower priority. Women’s Health Week reminds us that looking after ourselves is not selfish—it is essential. When women are healthy, informed and supported, our families and communities become stronger.”
The event also reinforced the importance of early prevention, regular health checks, balanced nutrition, physical movement and open conversations about women’s health.
Sikh Community Connections sincerely thanks the guest speakers, volunteers, supporters and every participant who helped make the celebration a success.
The organisation remains committed to empowering women through health education, social connection and inclusive community programs throughout the year.
