Sikh Community Connections held the AI Smart, Scam Safe Expo as part of Get Online Week 2026, creating a welcoming space for community members to explore artificial intelligence, online safety and everyday digital skills.

The event provided accessible resources on understanding AI, communicating with AI tools and recognising text scams. Attendees browsed printed materials, asked questions and took resources home to continue learning.

Practical digital skills support included helping attendees access Be Connected resources, scan QR codes and practise using their smartphones. Punjabi and Hindi language support helped make information easier to understand and encouraged participation.

Attendees expressed a strong need for more sessions, particularly on scam prevention and the basics of AI. One participant described a recent incident involving mobile phone spoofing and explained that the session helped him feel better prepared to use two-factor authentication as an additional security measure.

Several volunteers also expressed interest in supporting future SikhCC programs, providing an opportunity to strengthen our ongoing community support.

The event made digital learning more approachable and connected attendees with practical information and resources to continue building their skills and confidence online.
