Supporting the Punjabi community in Melbourne, the Sikh Community Connections concluded their six-weeks Mental Health workshops – He Mann program on 6th Sep 2020.
As part of the He Mann project, SCC conducted a series of mental health workshops over various topics including meditation, gratitude, parenting, overcoming stress and anxiety.
The workshop topics included:
- Parenting workshop by Baldev Mutta (PCHS)
- Diet & Mental Health by Purva Gulyani (Diet Yumm)
- A story of Hope, Recovery & Resilience by Beyond Blue
- Mind, Body & Soul by Gurpreet Kaur
- Staying Positive & Strong during Pandemic by Mata Baljit Kaur ji (Sri Guru Nanak Mission)
Due to the current situation surrounding COVID -19 all workshops were conducted online via Zoom video conferencing.
The aim of the program was to create a mentally healthy community and confidently support them during this pandemic time.
The workshops received a massive positive response from the community and a road map is in progress to plan future workshops which could help the community further during this time.
