Sikh Community Connections organised its first mental health workshop for women on 10th March. The event was also marked as a celebration of International Women’s Day.

The event was organised in Collaboration with MCWH ( Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health) at Bhai Gurdas Punjabi School in Gurdwara Sahib, Craigieburn.

The event kicked off with some light yoga exercises.

Guest Speaker Gagandeep Kaur Cheema from MCWH talked around the different stages in a women’s lifecycle where depression and anxiety can hit and how to build yourself to be more self aware and resilient and where you can go for help if needed. Gagandeep also talked around infertility issues in women with growing age as well.

Another Guest Speaker Trish Mackin also shared a powerful personal story of her life about her experience of being a victim of Alcohol Abuse and mental stress.

Women from Punjabi community attended the event and provided a very positive feedback.
